Shipping & Delivery Policy
Last Updated: May 30, 2026
getIt provides premium, on-demand hyperlocal delivery logistics connecting local merchants and customers. Because we specialize in instant local delivery, standard physical shipping via couriers (like India Post or DHL) does not apply. Instead, we use dedicated local riders to deliver orders directly in your area.
1. Service Locations and Operations
Our services are currently active within specified delivery limits in:
- Jwalamukhi (Himachal Pradesh, India)
- Dharamshala (Himachal Pradesh, India)
Deliveries can only be scheduled to and from areas within our active service boundaries. If a delivery address coordinates are outside our service limits, the checkout system will block placement, or our dispatch engine will cancel the order.
2. Delivery Timelines
Because we operate hyperlocally, we focus on instant, same-day delivery:
- Food & Quick Service Meals: Estimated delivery time is 30 to 45 minutes from order placement. This includes merchant preparation and rider transit time.
- Groceries & Pharmacy Items: Estimated delivery time is 45 to 60 minutes.
- Instant Courier Dispatch (Package Delivery): The rider will pick up your package immediately after dispatch and transport it directly to the receiver. Delivery time ranges from 15 to 30 minutes depending on the travel distance.
Please note that estimated times are guidelines. Delays due to high demand, weather conditions, road blocks, or merchant delays can occur.
3. Delivery Charges and Rates
Delivery charges are calculated dynamically and shown transparently before checkout:
- Base Fee: A flat base charge to cover local pickup and dispatch.
- Distance-Based Charge: Calculated per kilometer from the merchant's store (or pickup location) to your delivery address.
- Surge Fees: Additional fees may apply during high-demand hours, bad weather, or night shifts. These fees go towards incentivizing riders to accept orders.
4. Real-Time Order Tracking
Once your order is confirmed, you can track the status in real time inside our mobile app:
- Placed: Order submitted and awaiting merchant acceptance.
- Preparing: Vendor is assembling/preparing your items.
- Ready: Items are packed and awaiting rider pickup.
- In Transit: Rider has picked up the package and is heading to your coordinates (you can track the rider's live location on the map).
- Delivered: Rider has successfully completed the drop-off and verified delivery.
5. Delivery Verification (OTP)
To ensure secure handling and prevent wrong deliveries, some orders (such as high-value items, custom packages, or rides) require verification:
- You will receive a unique 4-digit Delivery OTP in the app or via SMS.
- You must share this OTP with the rider only when they arrive with your package.
- The rider will enter this OTP into the Platform to mark the order as successfully delivered.
6. Failed Delivery Attempts
You are responsible for providing correct address details and being reachable during the delivery window. A delivery attempt is considered failed if:
- The address is incorrect or unreachable.
- The rider attempts to contact you via call/SMS upon arrival, but you are unresponsive for 10 minutes.
- No authorized representative is present at the location to collect the package.
In case of a failed delivery attempt due to customer negligence, the order will be cancelled, and no refund will be issued. If the items are non-perishable (e.g. documents, electronics), they may be returned to the sender at an additional cost.
